Tetrinet features several game modes that let people play Tetris against each other.

Classic + Special games is the most common and most often played game in Tetrinet2. A Classic + Special means that the classic mode (the concept of your own cleared lines being added to your opponents field) and the special block mode, have been enabled. Specials are different blocks that you can use to attack other players’ fields and/or defend your own field. You recieve a special block in your field every time you clear lines- one line cleared will earn you one special, two will recieve two, and etc.

To get and be able to use the special, you must clear the line with the special block in it. Simply recieving specials in your field does not mean anything. You will know that you have gotten a special when it appears in your inventory (next to your field.)

Specials will also multiply in amount depending on the amount of lines you clear with the block. For example, clearing three lines with 2 specials will earn you 6 specials, 3 of each. Clearing 4 lines with 2 specials will earn you 8, clearing 1 line with 1 special will earn you 1- and etc. This also means that your specials will add up fairly quickly in your alloted 16-block inventory, so use them up as quickly as possible. You cannot recieve anymore specials if your inventory is full.
